Soprano Emőke Baráth has just released her third album, featuring a performance of Fauré's great Requiem. This work, in collaboration with baritone Philippe Estèphe, also includes the participation of Le Concert Spirituel under the direction of Hervé Niquet. The work is recorded here in its 1893 version, in an orchestration that uses neither violins nor woodwind; a later version with full orchestra was published in July 1900. The two works share a reflective and intimate character that gives the impression of a return to the purity of Gregorian chant.
The full album has been available on digital platforms since August 16th, published by Alpha Classics. More information here.
