French tenor Benjamin Bernheim presents his new album Douce France: Mélodies & Chansons, his first solo record for Deutsche Grammophon. This work is inspired by his extensive study and deep knowledge of French songs, traveling through the 19th and 20th centuries of Berlioz, Chausson, and Duparc mélodies alongside the chansons of Brel, Kosma, and Trenet. The album offers a voice accompanied by piano, creating the deep intimacy characteristic of this genre. Pianist Carrie-Ann Matheson also participates in this recording, having adapted the orchestral parts into piano versions.
The full album has been available on digital platforms since August 30th. More information here.
