Lucas Macías appointed new Chief Conductor of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra
22nd October 2024

The Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra has appointed Maestro Lucas Macías (Huelva, 1978) as the new Chief Conductor of the ensemble. Macías, chosen at the proposal of the Managing Director, will soon sign a contract that will bind him to the orchestra for the next three seasons, extendable for two more, with his incorporation taking place in September next year.

Among the reasons for this appointment cited by the Managing Director are “his excellent artistic merit, his rising professional trajectory as a conductor” and “his ability to lead symphonic projects and connect them with the society in which they operate.”

Previously, Lucas Macías has conducted the orchestra on five occasions since 2021.
