We are pleased to announce that Ibermúsica Artists will represent conductor Joana Carneiro in Spain and Latin America.
Joana Carneiro has been the Principal Guest Conductor of the Real Filharmonía de Galicia for four seasons, Principal Conductor of the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra at Lisbon’s Teatro São Carlos from 2014 to 2022, and Music Director of the Berkeley Symphony from 2009 to 2018.
In the 2024/25 season, Joana Carneiro will conduct the Naples Philharmonic, Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal, NAC Ottawa, New Zealand Symphony, Macao Orchestra, and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. She will also return to the English National Opera to lead a performance of Mary, Queen of Scots by Thea Musgrave. In Spain, she has appeared with nearly all major orchestras, including the Bilbao Symphony, Castilla y León Symphony, Asturias Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, and the Real Filharmonía de Galicia.
Joana Carneiro received the Helen M. Thompson Award in 2010, presented by the League of American Orchestras to recognize emerging talent. In 2004, she was honored by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Jorge Sampaio, with the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.
